This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Two different solution heat treatments were used to study precipitation in two 6xxx (Al-Mg-si) dispersoid-free-alloys with composition: 0.721 at % Si, 0.577 at % Mg and 0.57 at %Si 0.72 at % Mg. The relation between their microstructure and macroscopical properties such as hardness and ductility has been investigated. Tensile tests, hardness measurements, electrical conductivity sigma tests, grain size measurements in optical microscope and microstructure characterization in Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) have all been done. The effect of alloy composition and solution heat treatment temperature and time on the microstructure and the resulting macroscopical properties (hardness, yield stress, tensile strength and ductility) was investigated. The results indicate that when alloy A3 is solution treated at 520°C for 10 minutes and then annealed for 3 hours at 175°C, its hardness, yield stress and tensile strength as well as ductility is optimised i.e.A3 has better mechanical properties and low cost of production at these conditions. It has been proved that the strengthening was solely due to precipitation particles and not grain size. 116 pp. Englisch.

In this book, TCO thin films of TiO2:Nb and TiO2:Co were made by the spray pyrolysis technique. The films were deposited on Corning 7059, silicon and glass substrates at temperature 500 C and 475 C respectively using an alcoholic precursor solution consisting of titanium (iv) Isopropoxide with NbCl5 or Co(NO3)2. All as prepared films were amorphous, which were highly crystallized to be anatase TiO2 after air or hydrogen annealing. The TiO2:Nb films were then studied with regard to opto-electronic applications while TiO2:Co films were explored for magneto-optic applications. The influence of increasing Nb or Co dopant concentration on the electrical, optical, structural and (magneto-optical for CoxTi1-xO2) properties was investigated. The minimum resistivity, 3.36 cm, for Ti1-xNb2O2 film (x = 0.15) was obtained after 1 hour post deposition annealing in hydrogen atmosphere. Dispersion analysis using a model for dielectric susceptibility of the film consisting of two parts: Drude and Kim terms was used to simulate data. 240 pp. Englisch.
