Condition: Very Good. Neel Batu (illustrator). A Whirly-Pics puzzle, which is an introduction to puzzles for the very young. 5 puzzle pieces attached to the backing board so as not to be lost. Child is meant to spin the pieces and line them up to complete the full picture. This one is in very nice shape with one corner bend. Original box is included in good condition, although interlocking flap is missing and a gift inscription on box. Ads for other Whirly Pics puzzles on box. No date, but late 40s to early 50s. Puzzle image depicting young girl on a carousel horse.

Pictorial Boards. Condition: Near Fine. Jan Lewis (illustrator). First Printing. Pictorial boards with a die-cut circle in the upper cover for the clock to show through, light wear around die-cut else Fine. A walk through Little Red Riding Hood's day. A time is given for each event and the reader is meant to set the clock with moveable hands to match the time of the event. Illustrated in color throughout. Size: Square 4to.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. Not dated but this is a vintage reproduction by Merrimack who specializes in reproduction of antique books, circa 1980. This one is based on a moveable with published in 1906. Staple bound, original would have been stitched bound, The card opens out with six horizontal strips of paper which can be opened out to form different funny animals wearing different costumes. The paper used would have been different as well. The front does have a piece missing and a light fold in lower right corner. Still a nice example of a moveable. Size 20.5 x 15.5cm (8 x 6 inches).

Stiff Boards. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Oblong octavo, unpaginated, pictorial boards, nicked at the perimeter. UNCLE = Unknown No Copy Located Elsewhere E' un album movibile! This is album no. 1 in the Serie Gioconda in the Collezione " La Rana Verde ". The Italian text tells the story of puma which wanders into a group of Native American children. The booklet of text slides left, causing the figures on the front of the backing board to move and reveal.

Condition: Very Good. N.p. [United States?]: Keating, [ca. 1920s]. Original white printed paper-covered lidded box (7.5x11x4cm) containing ten (of twelve) unused die-cut, folded and moveable bridge party invitations (ca. 6x10cm) with accompanying envelopes (6.5x10cm -- eleven of twelve present). Light dust-soil to box, the die-cut portion on one card creased, else a Very Good example, though sadly not quite complete. Sweet and saucy collection of bridge party invitations depicting a group of four stylish blond women seated at a table, the tablecloth serving as a moveable flap which, when lifted, displays the women's bare and shapely legs and ankles.

Unique Hand made Book with moveable Parts.Not dated but circa 2000.Handmade book which could be a thesis for a BA degree[?] Oblong 4to Bound in plain white laminated card covers with hand writing in blue ink. title 'Artists in the centuries since the dawn of the Renaissance-geniuses and otherwise-have been products of their age, and analysis of the works they brought into their original creations cannot fail to yield a variety of basic truths and generalities.' The book is spiral bound and consists of 12 pages with text followed by 12 visual examples some with revolving parts. One layer is loose. With the small ex-libris red ink stamp in verso of front cover of Megan Michael Dawson [Megan and Michael were married in 1959. They organised the biennial Ilkley Literature Festival between 1973 and 1989 and ran a book business, dealing in children's books and pop up books, Ampersand Books.] Size 29.5 x 21cm [8.5 x 12 inches ].

An old witch asks a young soldier to rescue her treasure chest from the inside of a hollow tree. His dog helps. A moving tale.

Very Good-Near Fine bright copy, one moveable part needing minor reattachment repair, in original Very Good colorful dustjacket, few small chips and closed tears.

Large business card measuring 4 7/8 x 3 1/2 inches. Printed on pink paper, it advertises Pitcher and E. E. Pomeroy (a jeweler), both of Lewiston. There is a window on the right and there is another card attached via a brad on the back of the pink card. Above the window we read "Our Next President" and below we read "If Not Your Choice Turn the Bottom Card Around." A portrait of Jas. A. Garfield is in the window but if one turns the rear card around the portrait is of his adversary W. S. Hancock. There are further printed ads on the rear card. Some aging but a very good example of this clever form of advertising.

A book of reimagined fairy tales and verse illustrated in full color and orange & black. The moveable feature of the book are handles that were meant to unfold from the covers. A few pages corners creased at the gutter with no loss; small ink inscription on upper title page, else near fine in a very good dust jacket which has some tape repairs on the verso and some edgewear.

Morris worked for the publishers Blackie in Glasgow from 1893 as Art Director, and later produced a series of outstanding geometrical influenced bindings for Greshams (a Blackie subsidiary). Hardcover. Condition: Good. Small quarto. 8pp., printed one side only. Eight pages with full hand-coloured images-sometimes more than one to a page-all of which bear movable features. These are manipulated through paper tabs toward the bottom of the illustration. The particular craftsmanship of this volume lies in the multiple movables per single tab. The book features advertisements for other Dean & Son works as endpapers. Bound in original pictorial paper covered card wrappers. These are a little chipped around the edges and lower corners heavily worn. Eight moveables as follows: Old Mother Hubbard went to the Cupboard: Working order but does have repairs on verso, sellotape has been used to repair it. There is also a 1cm tear near the tab; She went to the Bakers : Working order. 1.5cm Tear by tab; She went to the Undertakers Missing pieces and a dogs head has been crudely drawn. The moveable has been attempted to work with card.Sellotape used again on verso.; She went to the Tavern Working order She went to the Hatters Trying to work . Heavy card has been stuck onto the original tab which is still there. I suspect sellotape has been used but I can t see it.; She went to the Tailors Two of the four pieces, dogs, head and arm are missing. An attempt has been made to mend it but it doesn t work. Again sellotape used. ; She went to the Hosiers In working order but crude repairs on verso with sellotape. Small tear by tab. The Dames made a Curtsy In working order but old crude repairs on verso with paper. Small tear by tab.An acceptable copy of a rare book. I am happy to send more photos upon request. Pictorial boards, red cloth spine, floral end papers. Printed in Bavaria. Ten leaves, eight are revolving pictures with small ribbon pulls. Restoration to the inner hinges and inner spine, most or all the plates remounted. A couple of short repaired tears in the margins. Expert restoration, a very nice and clean copy, all the pictures revolve beautifully.

4to. With 8 dissolving pictures in perfect working order. A little shaken but a nice bright copy in the original glazed pictorial cloth backed boards with a bruise to the bottom edge.

Folio. With 8 colour scenes featuring characters from Punch and Judy; Scene II lacks the characters. Original cloth backed coloured boards a little worn along the edges and the whole a little shaken. Old Hamley's stamp to front board, adverts to rear board. The larger format [365 mm] and very scarce issue of this moveable more commonly seen as a 4to. [29 mm.] The V&A has the only U.K. location traced.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. 4to. Cloth spine, printed paper boards. Unpaginated, Eight full page hand-colored moveable plates telling the story of Red Riding Hood . All moveables are in good working order. Inner hinges have been neatly repaired, and a few rivets have been replaced; there is fingering and soil on the pages, the covers are rubbed and worn .Overall it is a very good copy of an extremely scarce early moveable. Montanaro, p. 259, opines that this was probably published in 1857. Our copy has an inscription dated 1861. .

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. No date [1859]. 8 leaves, engraved on one side only, each bearing a hand-coloured illustration that has moveable sections operated by levers. A very clean copy , all moveables working, a couple stick a little but do work and the last one 'Here is a Bull', has been repaired, the original string has been tied around the bull s neck which has caused a horizontal tear along the paper. Bound in original cloth-backed pictorial boards, the rear advertising Dean & Son s One Shilling Juvenile Coloured Picture Toy Books And Children s Moveable Coloured Picture Books. The edges to the boards a little worn as usual with some light , odd fox mark inside, but generally a very good clean copy of a book which is usually found very worn and incomplete/ damaged. Size 255 x 175 mm (10 x 6.75 inches).

Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Not dated but circa [ca. 1857-58] Bound in original pictorial paper covered boards with cloth spine. Decorative endpapers advertising Dean & Son recent publications., on the verso is advertised New Series of Struwelpeters Six pages of Dissolving images with text underneath, all in working order. The dissolving scenes are as follows: Land/ Sea; War/Peace; Day/Night; Summer/ Winter; Fire/ Water; Earth/Air. The scene changes on the page surface as a venetian blind slat mechanism moves into place as the tab is activated. This novelty book illustrates themes of contrast. In pulling the tab, an image of war is transformed into a serene pastoral scene representing peace, and images of air change into pictures of earth. The tabs have been corrected i.e. some replaced, some minor tears by tabs have been strengthen. The boards are worn and rubbed, corners very worn. Inside there is grey spotting throughout on the pages and some small tears have been repaired some spotting etc. A good copy of a rare book. Size 27 x 19cm (7.5 x 9inches).
