The author, Annie Ketchum Dunning (who wrote as Nellie Grahame) was born in 1831 and educated in private schools in New York. In 1855, she married the Reverend Andrew Dunning, a man sixteen years her senior with a nine-year old child. Annie began writing a couple of years later to supplement her husband's small salary and wrote many books on the theme of Christian life. BINDING/CONDITION: rust-brown cloth with blind stamped decoration on the covers; black and gilt text and decoration on the spine; ownership name on the front endpaper (a private library) -- there are no other library markings of any sort; Good condition.
