An interesting early provincial printing, clear type, clean and sound condition. The volume has been neatly rebound in plain covered boards with paper label on the spine, with new endpapers and is in very good condition .

Hardcover. Condition: Poor. Poor. Only one of the hand-colored plates remains present, and it is loose and has a tear that has been tape-repaired on the reverse. Brown cloth binding with the spine re-backed and the original spine laid on. Previous owner bookplate on front endpage. Though present, the title page and the following page (pp. iii and iv) are loose. Text is complete and in good shape. 398 pages followed by the Index.

Full-Leather. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Early edition. Full leather binding. Condition: Covers are generally shelfworn with some staining and worm marks. The leather to the cover corners and head and tail of spine is worn and frayed. Binding holding firmly. No front or rear endpaper present. Page 161 has a small hole to the top edge. The text is faintly browned throughout, slightly darker to the fore-edge. There are some period notes in ink to the blank reverse of the last page. 285pp. plus 18pp. index (Table of Diseases).

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. This is a reproduction of a historical artifact and as such contains all limitations that the original work had at the time it was reproduced. Scholars believe the work to be culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Limitations include missing pages, blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. The issue copied is dated 1801. Dark spots are present on the bottom of the pages. The cover is brown with white lettering on the spine and front and is a modern cover. Available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box!

This is a fragment of the text, missing the first 48 pages, front matter and the illustrated plates normally found in this volume. Beginning at page 49, this fragment is in a nice 19th century binding, three quarter leather and marbled papers, gilt and raised bands to spine shows, normal age wear and rubbing. Very good and tight binding. The volume's 387 total pages suggests it is the 1775 edition published in London for E. Ballard, L. Hawes et. al. Includes table of diseases indexed at rear. Record # 2231716.

Firmly bound volume despite defects, lacks last page of rear index with subjects ending at "Shortness of Breath", covers detached but present, speckling to pages, lower half of leather lacking at spine.

Modern Half Calf. Condition: Near Fine. Early Edition. Two works bound together, same imprint and date, 306 and 206 pp. respectively. Handsome modern binding, contents just lightly browned.

12mo., neat contemporary signature on front paste-down, some light and intermittent age-staining to text, title and first two leaves of Table open awkwardly; contemporary mottled calf, sometime rebacked in calf to style, backstrip with black leather label lettered and tooled in gilt, boards rubbed at edges and corners else a bright, clean copy. Bright copy of the most famous herbal in English, first published in 1652 and commonly known as 'Culpeper's Herbal'. In the following year the author altered the format of his work, apparently to differentiate it from the two well-known piracies issued by Bentley immediately after first publication. VERY SCARCE. Henrey 102.

This engraving has the portraits of Riverius, Culpepper, Cole, and Fernel. (8);645;110;463;(32); Small folio in contemporary calf, newly rebacked. Foxing in parts. Worming of inner margins of first few leaves. Interesting associatlon item with a presentation note cn front blank "Samuel J. Mixter from L. Vernon Briggs 1912" (then represented to) "S.J. Mixter to Wm Jason Mixter 1921". Mixter is best remembered for his description of the herniated lumbar disc and its association with sciatia, done with Joseph S. Barr in 1934 (See Garrison Morton 4435). Lazare Riverius (1589-1655) was a celebrated French plysician who served the court of the King of France. A native medicine at Montpellier in 1622 and, although late,* invited to teach at Toulouse and Bologna, remained at description of aortic stenosis, correction of many of the errors of Caien. rie was early end strong proponent of the works William Harvey on blood circulation. The pesent work contains transiations of his Praxis mieuieu and Observationum medicarum centuriae quatuor as well as a translation of Fernel's Constliorium medicinalium libr, one of the most orderly study of Fernel's writings.

No Binding. Condition: Good. First Edition, Original Printed patent disbound with printed front blue wrapper present but not the back wrapper (both often lacking in early patents) About 27cm by 18 cm some wear and tear due to the disbinding.
