First Edition
Softcover. Condition: Good. Illustrated by Alva R. Runyon (illustrator). First Edition. Randall covered the early history of Muscatine by relating interesting incidents in the lives of some of its early pioneers in a series of radio sketches which aired on Sunday afternoons June 5 through August 28, 1949. What a wonderful idea for imparting a sense of the history of the places in which we all live! This small book is quite uncommon. (I believe it was reprinted in 1980 by the local library along with two other volumes--these are also now uncommon). Original tan printed wrappers. At some time, the spine was reinforced with black tape (which is wider on the rear cover than the front cover--the printing and drawing on the front are not covered by the tape, thankfully). Illustrations accompany each sketch. The book is unpaged, but there are 80 pages by my count. ; B&W Illustrations; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; [80] pages.
