Childhood reminiscences.Some darkening to endpapers. Spine faintly tanned. Near fine in very good, chipped and slightly rubbed dustwrapper with a few closed tears at top edge.

Fifty-second edition. 8vo. (7.3 x 5 inches). Illustrated throughout with wonderful line drawings by E. H. Shepard. A neat three line gift inscription to front blank endpaper, otherwise a fine clean copy throughout. Finely bound by Bayntun of Bath in mid twentieth century full dark blue calf leather binding. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt decoration. Compartments decorated with Winnie the Pooh tool and lettered in gilt. Both boards with singleline ruled borders. Front board is decorated with gilt illustration of Christopher Robin. Board edges with multiple diagonal gilt ruled lines to the corners. Decorative floral roll to turn-ins. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. A few small indents to the boards but overall still a very attractive copy.

FIRST PRINTING of this collected edition, featuring stories from Winnie the Pooh (1st published in 1926) and The House at Pooh Corner (1st published in 1928). 8vo. (7.5 x 5 inches). Illustrated throughout with 87 of Shepard's charming line drawings. Some marking to a few pages, but mostly to the margins. Finely bound in a recent half red morocco leather binding. The spine with five raised bands, the compartments ruled in blind and decorated with gilt stamped Winnie the Pooh devices and lettering. Black leather title label, gilt. Red cloth on boards, with a single gilt ruled border on the leather edges. Overall a very good, attractively bound copy.

A neat two line inscription on the blank free endpaper otherwise a bright and clean copy of the book in the publishers orange cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and illustrations of the characters to the front board. In a near to very good colour illustrated dustwrapper. There is some minor rubbing to the extremities and couple of small closed tears, without any loss, otherwise a clean and bright example. Colour map endapapers. Overall a very good copy of this classic. --- Originally published in 1928, uncoloured, Shepard coloured his own line illustrations for this edition.

Some offsetting to the half title page and a few minor spots to a couple of pages otherwise internally this is a very clean copy throughout. Publishers original burgundy cloth binding with gilt stamped illustration showing Christopher Robin playing with a toy train on front board, within a gilt ruled border, and Pooh and Piglet at a tikit office on the rear. Top edge gilt. Some very light fading to the spine and minor bumping to the corners of the binding but overall a better than very good copy.

Originally published in 1931, Shepard coloured his own line illustrations for this edition. He also at the same time coloured his illustrations for the Winnie the Pooh books of A. A. Milne. A little rubbing and bumping to the board edges but overall a near fine clean copy in publishers tan cloth boards with blind stamped illustration of Toad smoking a cigar to front board. Spine lettered in gilt. Original full colour dustwrapper has just a hint of fading to the spine but is generally bright and clean and with the original price still intact on the front inner flap. Overall a near fine copy. Colour map endapers. A lovely copy of this classic tale. -- More photos available on request.
