VI), wobei jedes Album individuell zusammengestellt und anders gestaltet ist als die übrigen. Hier handschriftlich vom Herausgeber vermerkt: "Heft VI bietet vorwiegend lyrische Gedichte". Links findet sich immer ein Scherenschnitt (offenbar in den meisten Fällen tatsächlich von Hand geschnitten), rechts ein Facsimile eines kleinen Autographen mit Angaben zu der Sammlung, in der sich das Original befindet. Die Auswahl der Autographen sowie passenden Silhouetten variiert von Heft zu Heft. Bis auf die gedruckten beiden Blätter zu Beginn ist die Legende immer handschriftlich zu den Bildern und Schriftmustern hinzugefügt. Das ganze Werk ist in Handarbeit individuell hergestellt. - Der Schwabinger Eigenverlag gab nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg auch die Zeitschrift "Medusa. Zeitgenössische Dichtungen" heraus. " - Kaum berieben, Umschlag nur leicht fleckig, innen sauber - aufwendig von Hand hergestellt.

circa 31 x 46 cm (ganzes Blatt). zusammen 7 Silhouetten auf Karton montiert "Mittig oben Edwin und Pauline von Schweinichen, darunter und daneben deren Kinder sowie drei Hunde und drei Katzen. Beschriftung aus dem Jahr 1926 mit der Angabe "nach dem Original seziert von Eurer Mutter", d.h. die Bilder sind vielleicht um 1926 geschnitten, obwohl sie auch mit den Umrisslinien deutlich älter aussehen. Zu sehen sind auch Mitglieder der Familie Fischer-Frauenfeld. " - Nur gering gebräunt, gut erhalten, dekorativ.
Rote Halbleder-Kassette mit reicher Vergoldung im Biedermeier-Stil (Kanten und Ecken berieben), 8 x 12 cm. Die Silhouetten mit minimalen Läsuren. 23 Blätter der Kassette blieben unbenutzt.
In einem alten Rahmen, rückseitig abgedeckt durch den Umschlag eines alten Schulheftes mit dem Etikett 'Schönschreib . Otto Wienold .'. Das Blatt ist am Rand stärker, sonst leicht fleckig und angestaubt, die Tusche am unteren Rand stellenweise verwischt, aber trotz dieser Mängel ein schönes Blatt, das den Geist der Epoche zwischen Rokoko und Klassizismus atmet: ein junger Mann, der liest wo er geht und steht, in lässiger Haltung, dabei aber mit Zopf, Spitzenjabot und kniehohen Stiefeln traditionell frisiert und gekleidet.
In einer dekorativen Halbleder-Kassete mit dem Rückentitel 'Souvenir' und reicher Goldprägung (Kassette stellenweise berieben und leicht fleckig), 10,5 x 17 cm. Ein Blatt handschriftlich bezeichnet: "Minchen Börsch i. J. 1822", möglicherweise stammt die Sammlung aus dem Umfeld der Gelehrten- und Pfarrerfamilie Börsch in Marburg. Keine umfangreiche oder systematisch angelegte, aber durch die feine Weißhöhung der Tuschezeichnungen hübsche Sammlung von Silhouetten der Biedermeier-Zeit. - Leichte Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren.
Dargestellt sind neben 4 Mitgliedern der Familie Seidel einige bekannte Protagonisten der Spätaufklärung, so der Berliner Professor Nikolaus von Béguelin (1714 - 1789), der 1745 von Friedrich II. zum Professor der Mathematik an das Joachimsthalsche Gymnasium in Berlin und ab 1747 zum Erzieher des preußischen Thronfolgers und späteren Königs Friedrich Wilhelm II. berufen wurde. Béguelin war Mitglied der Königlich-Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, fiel 1764 bei Friedrich II. in Ungnade und wurde 1786 anlässlich der Thronbesteigung von Friedrich Wilhelm II., der ihn sehr verehrte, mit dem Rittergut Lichterfelde beschenkt. Der hier vorliegende Scherenschnitt entstand nach dem Schattenriss von Johann Friedrich Gottlieb Unger. Des Weiteren aus Berlin der Geheime Sekretär Meissner, der Pro-Rector Hermes, der Referent Frölich, F. L. Seidel, der Lexikograph und Lehrer am Schindlerschen Waisenhaus Karl Heinrich Joerdens (1757 - 1835), der Stadtsekretär Schlicht und der Prediger Krüger. Unter den Nicht-Berlinern finden sich Professor Nathanael Gottfried Leske (1751 - 1786), der in Leipzig Naturgeschichte und später auch Ökonomie unterrichtete, Professor Klaproth aus Göttingen, D. Semler aus Halle, der Dichter und Jurist Klamer Eberhard Karl Schmidt (1746 - 1824), J. F. Seidel aus Treuenbrietzen, u.a. Neben den genannten Herren gehören fünf Damenbildnisse zu der Sammlung: G. D. Seidel, geborene Wolf und eine weitere Dame namens Seidel, Demoiselle Niclas aus Berlin, W. Buchholtz und eine Frau Schlicht, geb. Schlicht. Die Nummerierungen (hier vorliegend Blätter mit Nummern zwischen 7 und 112) lassen darauf schließen, dass es sich ursprünglich um eine umfangreiche Portraitsammlung gehandelt haben muss. Drei Blätter weisen rückseitig Spuren einer früheren Montage auf blauem Papier aus. - Zustand: Die gelackten Trägerpapiere teils durch die Montage der Scherenschnitte leicht gewellt und etwas fleckig, die Scherenschnitte wohlerhalten.
Lose in einem etwas späteren einfachen Papierumschlag mit dem handschriftlichen Titel: 'Silhouetten verschiedener Personen gezeichnet in den Jahren 1824 bis 1868 in Carlsruhe, Salem & Ichenheim von Apotheker Xav. Baur. Alphabethisch (sic!) geordnet!'. Bei dem auf dem Umschlag genannten Xav. Baur handelt es sich sehr wahrscheinlich um Franz Xaver Baur (1798 - 1891), der von 1822 bis 1845 badisch-markgräflicher Hofapotheker in Salem später in Ichenheim war und als Autor einer Lokalflora von Überlingen bekannt ist. (Lexikon deutschsprachiger Bryologen, Band 1, S. 30). Anders als auf dem Umschlag vermerkt, finden sich in der Sammlung Silhouetten aus den Jahren 1822 bis 1854 (nicht 1824 bis 1868), wobei 20 Portraits zwischen 1822 und 1827 entstanden, ein Portrait entstand 1840. Die weitaus meisten Darstellungen (58) wurden zwischen 1843 und 1845 angefertigt, in den Jahren 1846 bis 1854 entstanden noch 8 weitere, 22 Blätter sind undatiert. Der Charme der Sammlung liegt in ihrer Vielfalt: hier wurden nicht wie häufig in der Zeit Corpsstudenten oder bekannte Persönlichkeiten gezeichnet und getuscht, sondern Männer und Frauen aus der Mitte des süddeutschen Bildungsbürgertums. Wir sehen den Bauvogt Chr. Häringer, Frau von Seutter, den Domänenrath Helbing, Amtmann Ruckmich und seine Gattin, Rentamtmann von Riß, Bertha von Weinhart, Rittmeister Schuler, Rechtssprech Jagerschmid, Pfarrer Stedele, Frau Medicinalrath Dr. Buchegger, Oekonom Tiedemann (mit handschriftlichem Nachtrag "1849 nach Amerika geflüchtet"), Physicus Bodenius und seine Frau, Frau Oberförster Bickel, den Notar Bedenk (mit handschriftlichem Nachtrag "1849 geflüchtet nach Rorschach") sowie Rentamtsgehilfen, Geometer, Kaplane, einige Pharmaceuten, Forstbeamte, Lehrer, Hauptlehrer, Pfarreiverweser, Actuare, Dekane, Kuttermeister, Werkmeister, Medicinalräte, Güterinspectoren, Vikare u.a.m. Die am häufigsten genannten Orte sind Salem (6), Memmenhausen (5), Heidelberg (3) sowie Karlsruhe, Laupheim, Saalouis, Esslingen, Stuttgart, Ulm, Leutkirch, Ichenhausen u.a.m. Die Umrisszeichnungen sind unprätentiös, fast skizzenhaft und fangen doch das Charakteristische der Personen ein. Zustand: Blätter mit kleineren Randläsuren und stellenweise etwas fleckig, wenige Blätter gebräunt.
In einem breiten, schwarz-goldenen Biedermeier-Rahmen (nicht ausgerahmt), 44 x 52 cm. Laut handschriftlicher Bezeichnung jüngerer Zeit, die auf die Rückseite des Bildes montiert wurde, sehen wir von links nach rechts: "Ant. Rem. Freiherr von Pappos, Hofmarschall', das ist Anton Remigius Pappus von Tratzberg (1756 - 1810), fürstlich kemptischer Erbmarschall und Geheimer Rath, aus der alten reichsfreiherrlichen Familie stammend, die ursprünglich in Österreich ansässig, inzwischen in Schwaben lebte (vergl. Genealogisches Taschenbuch der freiherrlichen Häuser, Band 3, 1853, Seite 315 ff). Am Tisch sitzend sehen wir lesend 'Freifrau zu Nauenstein, geb. Gräfin Heindl' und ihr gegenüber, vor einem geöffneten Vogelkäfig und einen kleinen Vogel fütternd, 'Freifrau zu Pappos, geb. Gräfin Heindl', wohl Verwandte der Ehefrau von Anton Remigius, Maria Antonie, die ebenfalls eine geborene von Heindl war. Die Vogelfütterung wird von einem Pudel aufmerksam beobachtet. Stehend, mit einem Brief in der Hand nähert sich rechts davon 'Freifrau v. Laßer, geb. zu Hornstein-Grünningen' dem an einem zweiten Tisch schreibenden 'Leopold Baron von Laßer'. Bei dem Künstler handelt es sich um wohl um einen Verwandten der beiden, Honorius Karl Fiedel Caspar Melchior Balthasar Rupert Remigius Isidorus von Hornstein (1761 - 1838), der 1785 Schloß Grüningen von seinem Großvater geerbt hatte. Das Interieur in dem die Familienszene spielt deutet mit seinen fast bodentiefen Fenstern und seiner Weitläufigkeit auf einen großen Salon in einem Schloss. Interessant ist, dass die Wände keine Ölbilder oder Stiche, sondern drei Porträt-Silhouetten zieren - schwäbische Sparsamkeit oder schlicht Silhouetten-Begeisterung?.
"Da der Fuhrmann nun doch gekommen, so überschicke ich zugleich die Schatten für Herrn Saltzwedel. No. 1 ist der (J. J. ?) Spalding 2. der Prof. Aschard (!) 3. der H. Dr. Selle, ein sehr gelehrter Mann, der meine ganze Bewunderung u. liebe hat 4. der Hoffrath Gleditsch 5. der H. P. Rramler (sic!) 6. der Geheime Bergrath Herr Gerhard 7. der H. Dr. Bernulli (!), 8. der große Geist, aber kleine Mann Moses Mendelsohn. Diese Schatten sind alle sehr gut getroffen. Außer Aschard, welchen ich noch nie gut getroffen gesehen habe, jedoch hat es viel ähnliches. Wenn Herr Saltzwedel noch mehrere verlang(t), so lassen Sie dies nur aufschreiben . In Eile! denn ich muß gleich ins Collegium Christian". Datiert ist der Brief "d. 12ten Morgends um 1/2 7 Uhr". Der Brief wurde so gefaltet, dass die Schattenrisse in ihm transportiert werden konnten und rückseitig beschriftet: "Gelehrte Schattenrisse wollte ich sagen Schattenrisse von gelehrten Leuten". Bei Spalding handelt es sich wohl um Johann Joachim Spalding (1714 - 1804), der mit seinem 1748 erschienenen Werk 'Betrachtung über die Bestimmung des Menschen' das Manifest der deutschen Aufklärungstheologie vorgelegt hatte und 1764 von Friedrich II. als Propst an die St. Nicolai-Kirche in Berlin berufen wurde. Nach dem Wöllnerschen Religionsedikt von 1788 legte Spalding seine Ämter nieder. Mit Prof. Aschard wird der Naturwissenschaftler und Begründer der preussischen Zuckerrübenindustrie Franz Carl Achard (1753 - 1821) gemeint sein; mit Dr. Selle wohl Christian Gottlieb Selle (1748 - 1800), nach 1785 zunächst Leibarzt Friedrichs des Großen, später auch von Friedrich Wilhelm II. und Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1798 wurde Selle zweiter Direktor des "Collegium medico-chirurgicum". Mit Hofrath Gleditsch ist der Mediziner, Botaniker und Forstwissenschaftler Johann Gottlieb Gleditsch (1714 - 1786) gemeint, der um 1737 eine Anstellung am Collegium medico-chirurgicum in Berlin erhielt. Gleditsch war seit 1746 Direktor des Botanischen Gartens in Berlin und hielt seit 1780 auch Vorlesungen über Forstwissenschaften. P. Rramler (!) ist wohl der Dichter und Philosoph Karl Wilhelm Ramler (1725 - 1798), der Dozent an der Kadettenanstalt war und über Moses Mendelssohn und Friedrich Nicolai in Kontakt mit der Berliner Aufklärung gekommen war. Der Geheime Bergrath Herr Gerhard ist Carl Abraham Gerhard (1738 - 1821), Mineraloge, Bergbeamter und Gründer der Bergakademie Berlin und seit 1777 Direktor der Königlichen Eisenhüttenwerke. Der siebte Dargestellte ist der Astronom und Mathematiker Johann III. Bernouilli (1744 - 1807), Leiter der Sternwarte der Akademie der Wissenschaften in Berlin. Der zuletzt in der Aufzählung genannte "große Geist" ist der berühmte Philosoph der Aufklärung Moses Mendelssohn (1729 - 1786; ). Mit dem im Brief genannten "Collegium", in das der Schreiber eilen müsse, ist - das legen die Bezüge zu den Dargestellten nahe - das Collegium medico-chirurgicum in Berlin gemeint. Und der Empfänger der gelehrten Schattenrisse könnte der Frankfurter Apotheker, Chemiker und Naturaliensammler Peter Saltzwedel (1752 - 1815), Erbauer der nachmaligen Villa Metzler am Schaumainkai und Besitzer eines großen botanischen Gartens sein. Der dortige Ginkgobaum inspirierte Goethe zu seinem Gedicht im Westöstlichen Diwan. Saltzwedel hatte sich am 7. 11. 1771 im Collegium medico- chirurgicum als "stud. Pharm." immatrikuliert. (vergl. Von den wenigen dort vertretenen Studenten der Pharmazie kämen als Verfasser des vorliegenden Briefes in Frage Christian Gottlieb Goede aus Schlesien (Immatrikulation 1786) und Johann Christian Lucas aus Kleve (Immatrikulation 1787), dieser war später Apotheker in Kleve, soll ein guter Botaniker gewesen sein und seltene Pflanzen gezüchtet haben.
