Jahrhunderts im Grunde mehr oder weniger alle Künstler. Die drei Autoren des vorliegen…den Buches teilen jedoch die Auffassung, dass sich diese Problematik an bestimmten Künstlerpersönlichkeiten besonders grell spiegelt. Sie versuchen am Beispiel von Kurzmonografien und in drei grundsätzlich gehaltenen Aufsätzen zu zeigen, dass gerade in der Schweiz der Künstler immer wieder ins Abseits gedrängt wird. An scheinbar achtzehn «Sonderfällen» wird die allgemeine Thematik deutlich, dass die im hohen Mass verletzliche Künstlerexistenz einerseits an persönlichen und gesellschaftlichen Hindernissen zu zerbrechen droht, anderseits aber in ihrem unter erschwerten Bedingungen stehenden Schaffen auch zu einer Art Selbstheilung gelangt.
