Healey Hardy (grandaughter {sp} of Captain Mendis (Antonio Mendez) to her daughter Ona Hardy Evers. 1979. (Someone has torn out biographical sketch of Anton Mendis - pg 599 - which I understand was inaccurate. Said Antonio Mendez, was Portuguese, not Spanish, etc. He was born in Barcelona, Spain. Ona C. Evers." Illustrated. Sacramento County history with an interesting association history. Cover title is "Pen Pictures from the Garden of the World", a title used by the publisher for a number of similar books covering different counties of California.
