First edition of this scarce issue of the famed California trade magazine intended for the fast growing aeronautical industry on the West Coast, detailing the Goodrich Airplane Tires in Alaska, United Airlines, and review of the Army Air Corps in 1931. Of special interest is the exceedingly scarce humorous broadside for the Portland District of the Army Air Corps, Zoom, announcing the Frolics for Pearson Field commanded by Lieutenant Carlton F. Bond, in Vancouver, WA featuring officers, friends and family of the 321st Squadron, with the Seventh Infantry Band.

Soft cover. Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Nice set of ephemera relating to the re-establishment of The Texas Book Club in 1989. Originally founded in 1929 by Stanley Marcus the club ceased operations in 1941. This re-establishment involved Marcus as Honorary President as well as seventeen other directors including David Farmer, John Graves, Bill Holman, Al Lowman, Larry McMurtry, Dorothy Sloan, W. Thomas Taylor, Bill Wittliff, and others. Set includes the finely printed announcement, single sheet folio, folded and printed recto verso, signed by W. Thomas Taylor on front. First four newsletters, Vol. 1 Nos. 1-4, containing meeting notes, letters, essays, articles, announcements, etc. All in fine condition.

Published by Goldenmood Rainbow Press in 1975, Vol. 1, No. 1 features a review of Bukowski's book, Poems Written Before Jumping Out Of An 8 Story Window. Bukowski has signed this copy on the title page. This copy includes the 86d broadside, which was issued with the magazine. It measures 16.5 X 10.5 and is printed on heavy stock. It is in is in Fine condition. The magazine itself is in Very Good + condition with some browning to the lower edge, some chips to the front and back cover, and some overall wear. An uncommon publication, issued as a broadside for display on public transportation. Poet, essayist, and educator Robert Hayden was the first African-American to hold the office of Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress (now U.S. Poet Laureate). Issued as Streetfare Journal: The Magazine of the Rider.
