Dust jackets slightly faded to the spines. Volume 4 has been caught by something in a horizontal dragging motion that has cut through the dust jacket i…n a narrow line and slightly grazed the book spine. Volume three has been slightly caught in the same incident but this has not punctured the dust jacket on volume three just slightly scratched the jacket. Otherwise a very clean and neat set. Good+ set.

Illustrated with photographs in black and white. A very good or better set, the bindings square and firm with a little rubbing and bumping to the spine tips and corners, the cloth bright a…nd fresh. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and creased dustwrappers, showing a little toning to rear panels and a touch of fading to the spines. All except volumes II and III are price-clipped to the lower front flap, volume III with the addition of a small rectangular piece of paper below the blurb. An attractive set. Published between 1975 and 1980, the six volumes of Woolf's Letters cover the years 1888-1941. "One can follow the slow development, the strain and desperation, of a mystical writer trying to capture a reality behind convention, and record forever a glimpse of it" (from Stuart Hampshire's review of Vol. II in 'The Observer', 3 October, 1976).
