Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Inscribed, "To my private secretary -- M___ H___, with hopes." and signed and dated (Jan., 1948) in Refugio by the author. Laid in at the back are several Christmas cards as well as a series of postcards from Europe from Huson to the same recipient and signed either "H" or "HH". An interesting man, the author; an attorney and avid historian who at one time possessed one of the finer collections of Texana in private hands at his Dawgwood home in Refugio. He was a firm devotee of the philosophy of Pythagoras, though it appears he never completed his planned 3-volume biography that was to be the companion to this work. Book is in Very Good condition. Binding a bit shaken, small stain to fore-edge of textblock. Quite scarce. Signed by Author(s).

Condition: Gut. S. 292-302. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First edition. Tall octavo. 323pp. Illustrations. Owner's stamp on front fly, corners slightly bumped, else near fine in attractive very good dustwrapper with modest edgewear and soiling. Inscribed by the author to Professor C.W. Vollgraff. Some light and easily erasable pencil annotations in the text, (left there by us intentionally). De Vogel's work on early Pythagoreanism is highly regarded, he traces references from both well-known and obscure sources to build a profile of the real Pythagoras. Scarce, especially Inscribed.

166 Seiten. - Vgl. Goedeke IV.1, 1C., 54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------- BITTE BEACHTEN: Auf Grund der absurden und irrsinnig teuren staatlichen Regelungen für die Entsorgung der Versandpappen in den nachfolgenden Ländern, kann ich leider nicht mehr liefern nach: Österreich, Griechenland, Polen.
