His wild early driving style and a serious accident at Brooklands led to his licence being withdrawn from 1937 to 1939. Undaunted he bought up unwanted racing cars before the outbreak of World War II and, when peace returned, sold them to form the basis of British post-war racing revival. He built his own Challenger car, teamed up in Italy with Count Lurani to compete in Scuderia Ambrosiana and raced a factory Alfa Romeo 159, a BRM V16 and Aston Martins and later ran the Yeoman Credit team. Add to basket(London: Rocket 88 Books 2020). SIGNED LIMITED EDITION. A very fine copy still in its original shrinkwrap. As New. N.B: the author was the original lead singer of Ultravox (1976 - 1979) before Midge Ure took over. His debut solo album Metamatic was recorded in an eight track studio and is regarded by many as one of the best 100% electronic albums produced. This is his first work of fiction (and as with his music) heavily influenced by J.G. Ballard. The standard trade edition is still in print, the limited edition was offered as a pre-order and included the option of having your name printed inside as a thank you gesture (much like a subscriber's edition). The Limited Edition is essentially the trade edition with a bonus signature sheet tipped in. This can be verified without breaking the seal is by the publisher's barcode 9 781910 978481 which has been placed on top of the shrink-wrap concealing the printed barcode on the boards of the book. I have only encountered one other copy of this Limited Edition having been sold in the last 12 months. NB; This SIGNED LIMITED EDITION should not be mistaken for the standard trade edition.
