Each contains a collection of songs for children with accompanying coloured illustrations. They are both facsimiles of books first published in1877. Covers: decorative, coloured, laminated card with colour illustration to front and rear of Baby's Opera, cream coloured lettering to front and black lettering to rear of Baby's Opera, green lettering to both faces of The Baby's Bouquet; both in excellent condition. Internally: both very clean and tightly perfect bound; no marks, inscriptions or book plates. Profusely illustrated in colour. 56 pp. each. Undated, no other edition statement, hence 1878, first edition. A very well used copy, covers soiled, edges heavily worn and string-tied binding loosening, so sold as-is. Colored plates and leaves are its best feature, still quit nice.

Copiously illustrated and decorated in colour by Walter Crane and printed by Edmund Evans. Original vellum-backed gilt decorated brown cloth, top edge gilt. Binding is sound (hinge between endpapers open but holding), pages are clean with a very occasional light fox mark, corners are slightly bumped and vellum slightly soiled - overall a very good copy.

Illustrated with dozens of exquisite color illustrations by Walter Crane representing the three works originally published in 1877-1887. A new preface was written by Crane for this edition and new illustrations on the preface and title pages. Walter Crane's color illustrations for these three children's stories, many full-page, with decorative borders and vignettes throughout. "Walter Crane (1845-1915) was an English artist and illustrator. He is primarily known for his illustrations of the Faerie Queen as well as numerous children's books, however he also worked on designs for political pamphlets and even wallpaper, ceramic tiles and other decorative art. During the 1800s Walter Crane was considered Britain's greatest socialist artist, and he was asked to illustrate many socialist publications. However his best work was non-political in nature.
