Condition: As New. oblong 4to, hardcover, 64 pp., color illus., Captain Peter Batty was a liaison officer attached to the 8th Indian Division and took part in the action that occured on May 11, 1944.during the day leading up to the battle he collected the propaganda leaflets that the Germans fired at the Allied troops, and kept them safe since then. These leaflets, and his notes made during the battle, are the main content of this book. A rare opportunity to understand the dynamics of printed propaganda. Review: A lovely book considering the obvious topic. Fascinating for anyone interesting in collecting anything about Nazi Propaganda techniques and holds some beautiful images of excellent quality. The missing plate is Paris 'Boulevard des Italiens'. Contemporary half calf. Textured cloth boards. Spine label and gilt decorations. Very good condition. Severe rubbing and abrasions to binding (see images). Internally age darkened and damp stained in places (mainly title page - see images). Most of the plates are clean with some age darkening towards the edges of the page. Overall still a nice copy.…
