Sherard Osborn (1822-1875), ammiraglio della marina britannica nato a Madras (India), diede alla luce questa importante e fortunata edizione basandosi sui giornali di bordo del capitano McClure. Rara e ricercata prima edizione di questa straordinaria testimonianza storica in cui , per la prima volta, si descrive la scoperta del Passaggio a Nord-Ovest.
