ORIGINAL-FARBRADIERUNG (in weiss lackierter Holzleiste unter Glas gerahmt, gesamt : 41 x 54,5 cm), am Unterrand mit Bleistift eigenhändig bezeichnet und signiert E.H. COMPTON p(inxit=gemalt) MOTIV : Großer Teich (Riesengebirge) - zum gleichen Preis in gleicher Größe ebenso gerahmt sind vorhanden noch die Motive : 1) Hochmoor mit Schneekoppe 2) Kammweg mit Schneekoppe 3) Am kleinen Teich (auch mit Schneekoppe). ( 1907 wurde erstmals eine Serie seiner Arbeiten im Münchner Kunstverein ausgestellt (vom Karwendel und Gardasee, Kaisergebirge, ?Geisterschmiede bei Kufstein? u.v.a.). Weitere Ausstellungen folgten, unter anderem in der Royal Academy in London, in Bradford und Berlin. In der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus hatte er sich in das System integriert. Er war von 1937 bis 1944 auf allen Großen Deutschen Kunstausstellung in München mit insgesamt 19 Bildern vertreten, von denen u.a. Hitler drei und die Naziführer Heinrich Himmler , Hermann Esser und Hermann Schmitz je eines erwarben.).

Der Künstler, Sohn des Malers Edward Theodor Compton (1849-1921), erhielt bei seinem Vater eine Ausbildung als Maler und besuchte auch die Kunstgewerbeschule in London. 1907 hatte er im Münchner Kunstverein eine Ausstellung, bei der deutlich wurde, daß der Sohn wie auch der Vater vor allem ein Gebirgsmaler war. 1911 heiratete er in München. Er starb als Witwer und war kinderlos. Edward Harrison liebte einen hellen durchsonnten Kolorismus und einen leicht pastosen, fleckigen Farbauftrag, wie er von den Impressionisten bevorzugt eingesetzt wurde. Es gibt auch zahlreiche Aquarelle von seiner Hand, die einen bildmäßigen Anspruch haben.
