In contrast, the period following Duke Albert is extensively documented, featuring accession lists and inventories that date from 1822 onwards.The book presents significant findings related to the collection?s history, including details on the Raccolta Durazzo, which was the first large print collection initiated by Duke Albert, his criteria for acquisitions, and his relationships with contemporary artists and collectors. Richly illustrated, the volume features a selection of masterpieces that not only reflect Albert's acquisitions but also highlight key provenance research outcomes. The publication stands as both a comprehensive historical account and a visual testament to the Albertina?s artistic treasures.
