Originale brossura muta d'attesa, 8vo cm14x19, pp XVI 179 (5). Carlo Lanza, medico e archeologo, studiò a Napoli e Milano, dove fu allievo e segretario di Pietro Moscati; abbandonata una promettente carriera accademica si unì alle truppe francesi come medico e con esse giunse a Spalato, ove rimase anche col mutato clima politco…e divenne sindaco (1814) sotto gli Austriaci. Appassionato archeologo e numismatico, prese parte al dibattito necolassico sul restauro delle antichità; la sua collezione di monete e reperti impressionò l'imperatore Francesco d'Asburgo Lorena al punto da favorire la fondazione del Museo Archeologico di Spalato, di cui fu Direttore. Quest'opera giovanile, classificazione metodica rimedi (farmaci, cibi, bagni ecc) ispirata al rigore sistematico della nosologia di Boissier de Sauvages, valse all'autore la proposta, declinata, di una cattedra a Padova o Pavia. Bell'esemplare, genuino e in barbe (qulache carta di introduzione e ultimo foglio ancora intonsi).

Condition: sehr guter Zustand. 2 Blatt, weicher Bleistift, mit Deckweiß laviert, auf grünlichem Papier. Je ca. 27,9:16,8 bzw. 13,2 cm. Vermutlich in Venedig entstandene und sich an G.D. Tiepolo (1727-1804) anlehnende Entwürfe für zwei Wandmalereien. Der leicht bogenförmige Ausschnitt am rechten, bzw. am linken Rand weisen vermut…lich darauf hin, daß es sich um Fresken rechts und links von einer bogenförmigen Öffnung (Tür?) handelt. Donadini studierte an der Wiener Akademie, später in Venedig. Hier lernte er die Maler H. Makart und H. Lossow kennen, mit dem er nach München ging, wo er 1872 Meisterschüler von C.Th. vopn Piloty wurde. 1877 wurde er Professor an der Wiener Akademie, wechselte aber 1881 nach Dresden, wo er die Professur für figürliche Malerei sowie die Leitung des Ateliers für Theaterdekoration an der Akademie für Kunstgewerbe erhielt. Er wirkte in Dresden 30 Jahre als geachteter Künstler und schuf zahlreiche Wand- und Deckengemälde mit mythologischen und historischen Themen. Die meisten wurden im 2. Weltkkrieg zerstört. Ferner verfaßte er mehrere Werke zur sächsischen Kunstgeschichte und war ein Pionier auf dem Gebiet der Fotografie.
